Shipping Policy

Effective Date: February 20, 2026

To ensure the safety of our unique collections and to keep our administrative costs low, the Mexican Heritage Center and Gallery operates primarily as a Local Pickup institution.

1. Standard Policy: Local Pickup Only

Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, all items (including artwork, merchandise, and auction items) are to be picked up in person at our Stockton location.

Pickup Location: 111 S Sutter St, Stockton, CA 95202.
Pickup Hours: Please retrieve your items during our standard gallery hours or by scheduled appointment.
Identification: You must present a valid ID and a copy of your purchase receipt (digital or printed) at the time of pickup.

2. Shipping Exceptions

We recognize that some of our supporters live outside the Central Valley. While we do not offer standard shipping at checkout, a custom shipping plan may be arranged under the following conditions:

Direct Contact Required: You must contact the Center within 48 hours of purchase to request a shipping quote.
Approval: Shipping is not guaranteed and is handled on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of the Center.
Costs: If approved, the buyer is responsible for all costs, including specialized packaging, handling fees, shipping labels, and mandatory insurance.
Payment: All shipping-related invoices must be paid in full before the item is released to the carrier.

3. Liability & Risk of Loss

For Pickups: Once an item is handed over to the buyer or their designated representative, the Center is no longer responsible for any damage sustained during transport.
For Shipping: If a custom shipping plan is arranged, the Center’s responsibility ends once the package is accepted by the third-party carrier (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx). We highly recommend purchasing shipping insurance for all original artwork.

4. Abandoned Items

To keep our gallery space clear for new exhibitions, items must be picked up within 30 days of purchase.

If an item is not retrieved within 30 days and no shipping plan has been established, the Center reserves the right to charge a storage fee or consider the item abandoned.
Abandoned items may be restocked or donated back to the Center without a refund to the original buyer.
